Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Thirty-six stroke patients of both sexes. 2.Age of patients ranges from 45 to 60 years. 3.NOT less than 6 months since stroke onset. 4.The body mass index ranged (BMI) from 18.5 - 29.9 Kg/m2. 5.Motor recovery stage between 4 and 5 according to Brunnstrom’s classification. 6.The grade of motor power not less than grade three according to the standard muscle testing procedures by manual muscle test. 7.The muscle tone of the affected upper limb muscles ranged from 1 to 2 grade according to Modified Ashower scale of muscle tone. 8.All the patients are medically stable. 9.Patients have intact sensations (deep & superficial).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Other neurological and orthopaedic impairments in upper limb. 2.Having visual and hearing problems. 3.Inability to sit independently on a chair. 4.Impaired cognition and impaired comprehension and ideomotor apraxia. 5.History of endogenous depression or severe psychiatric disorders. 6.Severe neglect, and major medical problems or comorbidities that will influence upper extremity usage or cause severe pain.

MeasureTime frame
The cortical excitability measured by EEG mapping (alpha waves, beta waves, gamma waves, and mu rhythms), which is a method for recording the spontaneous electrical activity of the brain.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Motor function of upper limb is conducted using the Wolf Motor Function Test, which measures the speed of performance.;The hand grip strength is measured by a hand dynamometer, which measures isometric grip force (hand grip strength).;Motor impairment measured by Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale which is a stroke-specific, performance-based impairment index. It is designed to assess motor functioning, balance, sensation and joint functioning in patients with stroke.
