Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Booked multiparous women aged 18 to 40 years Gestational ages of 37 to 42 weeks based on an accurate last menstrual period or USS, Singleton fetus in cephalic presentation. Women would be eligible for the study if they had a “potential companion” who will be available to undergo training sessions and be ready to offer continous uninterrupted support during labour.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Women with contraindications to vaginal delivery Non consenting women or women with non consenting spouse or companion Divorced or separated women Women who have had a previous CS Women with any known medical or mental disease related to or unrelated to pregnancy or with known fetal anomalies USS Estimated women fetal weight of less than 2.5 kg or greater than 4kg Primigravidas Women with multiple gestation Unbooked
