Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Age =18 - 45 years. • Pregnant women undergoing elective or emergency cesarean section. • Singleton Pregnancy. • Gestational age =37 weeks. • Desire for intrauterine contraception in the postpartum period. • Acceptance of either Cu T380A IUD for immediate postpartum insertion or Late IUD insertion after the puerperium

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Placenta previa. • History of ectopic pregnancy. • History of prior cesarean scar pregnancy. • Severe hemorrhage requiring hysterectomy. • Uterine anomalies. • Chorioamnionitis. • Coagulopathy. • Refusal of or contraindications to IUD use.
