Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) These criteria are designed to recruit a volunteer pool of adult men between the ages of 42 and 60 years old who exhibit high levels of sedentary behavior and have a body mass index between 18.5 and 29.9 kg/m². b) Participants must be voluntarily capable of providing written informed consent after receiving an explanation of the study procedures, as well as any potential risks and benefits. c) adults are sedentary (not achieving 30 min per day or 150 min per week of moderate-intensity exercise or 20-60 min per day (75 min per week) of vigorous-intensity exercise (Liguori & Medicine, 2020) based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) (Craig et al., 2003; Meeus et al., 2011). d) Participants must be medically cleared for exercise participation through a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PARQ) based on the ACSM exercise prescription guideline (Pescatello, 2014).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) any musculoskeletal disorders that would prevent physical exercise, b) diabetes with a fasting blood sugar level of =126 mg/dl and high blood pressure (resting blood pressure =140/90), c) active infection, d) recent myocardial infarction, surgery, or severe liver dysfunction.
