Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women who had accidental perineal tears after childbirth approached to Participate in study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Women refused to participate in the study. 2. Women needed episiotomy because sodium hydroxide, which is a component of cream, may lead to fetal eye irritation. 3. Sensitivity to topical anesthetics or lidocaine may lead to anaphylactic shock.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
difference in mean pain score during perineal repair using VAS scale (10 cm vertical linear scale in which zero indicates no pain and 10 indicates maximum pain).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Participants' satisfaction was measured using a Likert scale question with five options: very satisfied, satisfied, neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, dissatisfied, and very dissatisfied.
