Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients who had undergone elective major abdominal surgeries general surgery department Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center and give consent and 18 and above

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All patients who failed to measure BMI for any reason and Elective abdominal reoperations where the initial surgery was done outside of KCMC.
