Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ? Children having mild, moderate, and severe persistent asthma aged 6-18 years. ? As per the Global Initiative for Asthma guidelines, 2021, asthma diagnosis was based on the history of symptoms such as recurrent cough, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath, which either resolves spontaneously or with bronchodilators. The diagnosis was confirmed by demonstrating a significant improvement of 12% or more in the forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) after using short-acting bronchodilators in children aged >six years (GINA, 2021).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ? All children having the following conditions: - Clinical evidence of heart diseases, renal or hepatic insufficiency - Cystic fibrosis or congenital respiratory diseases - Chronic diarrhea or malabsorption - Clinical evidence of malnutrition ? Children who receiving any nutritional supplements in the last six months before the study and those who will be incompliant with the intervention. ? Children whose parents refused to participate in this study
