Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Caregivers: -Adult (18 years) caregiver of children with a developmental disability (e.g. Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy. -Caregiver of a child who is newly diagnosed with a developmental disability. -Caregiver of a child with developmental disability who is referred to the study team by a child development professional (e.g. health worker, social worker) that the caregiver needs help. -Caregiver of a child with developmental disability who has inadequate access to health, education, and social services within the past six months. -Caregiver of a child with developmental disability who has adequate access to only one or two of health, education, and social services within the past six months. -Caregiver of a child with developmental disability who had access to health, education, and social services but has stopped receiving them within the past six months or more. Peer Navigators: -Adult (18 years) caregiver of children with a developmental disability (e.g. Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy. -Child is less than 18years old -Caregiver should be willing to meet in person with participants -Caregiver should be able to read and write basic English or the local language so that they can complete basic data collection forms -Caregiver should be available to attend training and pass a competency exam (75% or better) on PHN scope of work and skills
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Caregiver: -Non-adult caregiver of a child with developmental disability. -Caregiver of a child with a developmental disability, who is older than 12 years old -Caregiver of a child with disability who has adequate access to health, education and social services for their child. Peer Navigators: -Non-adult caregiver of a child with a developmental disability (e.g. Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy. -Child is more than 18years old -Caregiver not willing to meet in person with participants -Caregiver not able to read and write basic English or the local language -Caregiver not available to attend training -Caregiver not able to pass a competency exam (75% or better) on PHN scope of work and skills
