Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants for the study were undergraduate students at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, aged between 18 and 25 years. They needed to own a smartphone with an active WhatsApp account and be familiar with its use, as the intervention was delivered via WhatsApp. Participants had to be apparently healthy, with no self-reported medical conditions or physical limitations that would prevent them from safely increasing their PA levels.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants who already were engaged in high levels of PA Participants who had previous participation in similar studies were excluded to prevent skewing the data and potential biases.
