Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age from 19 to 40 years. 2. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II parturients. 3. Patients undergoing spinal anesthesia for elective cesarean section. 4. Full term, singleton pregnancies.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient's refusal. 2. Coagulopathy. 3. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. 4. Hypersensitivity to any drug used in the study. 5. Diabetic, cardiac, hepatic or renal patient. 6. Infection or anomalies at site of injection. 7. BMI >35, body weight =60 kg. 8. Known fetal abnormalities. 9. Emergency surgeries. 10. History of recent opioid exposure.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Time of first analgesic request during the first 24 hour post-operative.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Total opioid analgesic requirement in the first 24 hours. Incidence of somatic pain and visceral pain using VAS during rest and movement Effect of local anesthetics on GIT motility from start of surgery to time of passage of flatus. Postoperative hemodynamics and Sleep quality and ability to sleep in lateral decubitus. Any complications and Patient's post-operative analgesic satisfaction
