Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients between 18-65years requiring laparotomy for sepsis at BSUTH, Makurdi

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients on chemotherapy Patients who had previous abdominal surgery HIV patients with CD4 <200cells/mm Poorly controlled DM Patients who has radiotherapy in last 2months. Patients on chronic steroids Patients with BMI<18
