Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Elective cesarean section. Full term singleton pregnancies 37 to 41 weeks. Primary or repeated caesarean section.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Emergency caesarean section. Refusal to participate. Failure of spinal anaesthesia/ Patient requiring conversion to general anaesthesia Intraoperative bladder injury. Peri/Post-operative complications requiring prolonged catheterization e.g., postpartum hemorrhage. Women with urinary tract infections preoperatively confirmed by midstream urine analysis. Women with any medical conditions requiring postoperative monitoring of urinary output such as severe preeclampsia and renal failure.
