Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Children from 6 months to 12 years, who present with malaria symptoms (fever, history of fever in the last 48 hours, within the selected health facilities. • Willingness to give assent/consent to partake in the study. Consent will be taken from the parent or guardians

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Asymptomatic (absence of fever, history of fever in the past 48 hours, or any other symptoms/signs indicating the presence of malaria) • Unwillingness to participate in the study or comply with the study protocol

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Generating parasite genetic data to support reviews of drug and diagnostic policy in Nigeria. In addition, genomic capacity building and technology transfer for tracking malaria parasites using portable ONT sequencing in Nigeria

MeasureTime frame
Parasite density measured by qPCR and/or microscopy, among children with suspected false-negative HRP2 RDT results
