Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Male children born with visible fistula in the perineal body 2. Girls with vestibular fistula (when the anal opening was within the vestibule of the vagina), perineal fistula, anterior anus (when most of the anal opening was with the sphincter complex except the anterior portion being anteriorly misplaced)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children who previously had a colostomy 2. Life-threatening associated anomalies, especially cardiac and tracheoesophageal anomalies 3. Premature infants <34 weeks gestational age, and infants weighing less than 2,000 grams 4. Children with neural tube defect
