Sex/Gender

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Are deemed healthy and physically able to perform exercise according to the Health and Fitness questionnaire. 2. Participate for the past three months in some form of exercise training with an endurance component for at least three times per week; 3. Are not following any specialised diet

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Biologically female 2. Are on any blood anti-coagulation medication; 3. Are on chronic medication which may have an effect on their exercise responses; 4. Have suffered a lower body or core injury in the last three months prior to the study that has inhibited their ability to perform aerobic exercise; 5. Present with a respiratory illness on the day of testing; 6. Do not voluntarily agree to cease using sport performance supplements or anti-inflammatory medications during the study; 7. Present with a haemoglobin concentration below the healthy range for men (138-172 g/L)

Maximal aerobic capacity VO2max, maximal treadmill speed, time to exhaustion, maximum blood lactate concentration and heart rate, heart rate recovery, change from baseline in countermovement jump performance, rating of perceived muscle fatigue and soreness.
