Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients within the age range of 2 to 5 years old. • Scheduled for elective non complicated unilateral inguinal hernia repair. • ASA I or II physical status.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal of the patient’s parents or legal guardians to give informed consent. • History of allergy to any of the study drugs. • Patients with spine deformity, infection at the block site. • Coagulation disorders and/or relevant drug allergy or contraindication,. • Patients whose families do not approve inclusion in the study. • Neurological and/or psychological diseases. • Associated cardio-respiratory illness

postoperative pain severity, time to first postoperative analgesia requirement, anesthetic requirements and intraoperative (fentanyl) and postoperative (ketorolac) analgesic requirements

intraoperative mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), adverse efects (e.g., nausea, vomiting, hypotension, motor weakness) and Block related complications Such as, block failure, local anesthetic toxicity (LAST)
