Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who will undergo hip surgery. Patients of either sex. Patients above the age of 18. Patients with the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classes I and II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal for regional anesthesia. History of local anesthetic allergy, bleeding disorder or anticoagulant therapy. local-site infection. Clinical significant neurological disease. ASA Clases III and IV.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The numerical rating scale NRS at the time before and 30 min after the blockade (by passive internal rotation of the fractured lower limb to neutral position from its typical external rotation deformity), and at 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 and 48 hours postoperative of both resting and dynamic pain.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The strength of the quadriceps, the total morphine consumption, the first time of postoperative out-of-bed mobilization and any complications will be recorded.
