Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Children aged 6 - 59 months. Children without malaria symptoms. Children who are residents of the intervention sub county (Turkana Central) and non intervention subcounty (Turkana North) at least for a 6 month period (June-November 2024) during enrollment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children below six months and above 59 months of age. Children with malaria symptoms ( fever, history of fever, aches, chills and lethargy) Children visiting the intervention and non intervention sub counties and will reside for a period of less than 6 months. Children who do not fit the WHO SMC inclusion criteria : (Those with febrile or severe illness, on cotrimoxazole prophylaxis or allergic to sulfa containing drugs like sulfadoxine pyrimethamine).
