Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) age range of 12 to 73 years old. 2) involvement of unilateral facial nerve paralysis only. 3) all patients had facial nerve palsy confirmed by EMG test with either partial affection or sever axonal affection of facial nerve. 4) period of onset of Bell's palsy between 1 day and maximum 6 months. 5) Diabetic patients of no more than 10 years and under the control of medication.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) patients with facial nerve palsy due to damaged pathogenic factors such as a brain tumor – severe ear infection (Necrotizing Otitis Externa- Herpes Zoster -----etc)- traumatic, 2) post-operative traumatic complications or with a history of affection more than 6 months. 3) Patients with contraindications to steroid therapy. 4) patients with symptoms such as psychosis, renal or hepatic failure, peptic ulcer disease, tuberculosis, and pregnancy
