Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing their first cochlear implantation and receiving the same type of implant motivation and willingness to comply with all requirements of the evaluation protocol Signature of informed consent by the legal guardian of the child.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with contraindications to systemic or local corticosteroid therapy cochlear obliteration or any other cochlear anomaly preventing complete electrode array insertion Central or retrocochlear origin of hearing loss Discontinuation of post-implantation follow-up (with a follow-up duration of six months)

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the effects of local corticosteroid therapy on electrical impedance of electrode contacts during the six months following cochlear implantation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the impact of local corticosteroid therapy along the electrode array in order to determine its effect on both basal and apical electrodes.
