Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals with a diagnosis of HF (using the New York Health Association functional class I to III) Heart failure patients who present with central obesity (waist circumference of =102 centimeters for men and =88 centimeters for women) Heart failure patients who are physically inactive (i.e., baseline physical activity <600 MET min per week).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Heart failure patients who have other comorbidities including diabetes Heart failure patients who are pregnant or lactating Patients who engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity or sports, Heart failure with a history of spine, hip, knee and ankle fractures, as well as weakness of or deformities of the lower limb Patients with impaired skin sensation and those with such acute skin conditions as eczema, dermatitis and those with allergic response to electrodes, gel or tape used for application of EMS
