Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women with Eclampsia Women within 10days post-partum with eclampsia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: chronic renal failure history of epilepsy received magnesium sulphate and/or other anticonvulsant prior to presentation at the study hospital known contraindication to magnesium sulphate therapy (like myasthenia gravis) intrauterine fetal death if woman or her next-of-kin was not willing or able to give informed consent

Rate of recurrence of at least 1 convulsion episode

Duration of hospital admission post-intervention, need for admission of newborn into neonatal intensive care unit, rate of occurrence of MgSO4-related flushing, pain at injection site
