Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals with T2D aged 18 to 70 years who present with central obesity (waist circumference of = 102 centimeters for men and = 89 for centimeters women) only will be recruited to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: High blood pressure or any form of cardiovascular disease, macro- and micro-vascular diabetic complications, cardiothoracic or abdominal surgery within the previous 6 month, history of spine, hip, knee and ankle fractures, weakness of or deformities of the lower limb. In addition, individuals with impaired skin sensation and those with such acute skin conditions as eczema, dermatitis and allergic response to the electrodes, gel or tape used for application of electro-stimulation.
