Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria Patients were included if they were older than 19 years diagnosed with disk displacement with or without reduction, as con?rmed by the research diagnostic criteria (RDC) for TMDs. TMJ pain

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for this study included systemic diseases (the presence of polyarthritis or other rheumatic diseases) ,contraindications for MRI (e.g., implanted metal or medical devices, claustrophobia), the presence of neurologic disorders, head and neck cancer, oral submucous ?brosis, history of TMJ surgery, history of previous treatment with occlusal splints

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome variables were maximum voluntary mouth opening and visual analogue scale score of pain.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The secondary outcome variable was joint sound.
