Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: flexor tendon injuries caused by open cuts (such as by broken glass) to the hand or crush injuries injuries in zone II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: secondary repair surgery diabetes mellitus nerve injury or bone fracture associated with tendon injury and injury due to sudden forced extension of the fingers

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1-Pinch gauge was used to measure lateral pinch, 2-point pinch, and 3-point pinch strength. 2-Jamar Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer will be used to measure grip, lateral pinch, 2-point pinch, and 3-point pinch strength.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire will be used to assess (1) overall hand function, (2) activities of daily living (ADL), (3) pain, (4) work performance, (5) aesthetics, and (6) patient satisfaction with hand function.
