Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Participants should be 18 years or above • Must be attending TB care in the selected health facilities • People with pulmonary TB must be on anti-TB treatment for at least two weeks for the purpose of preventing transmission • Must score 5 or above on PHQ-9 (Kroenke et al., 2010) and report the presence of at least some disability.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Participants with a plan to be transferred out of the study area in the next three months • Patients with severe mental, neurological or substance use disorders • Actively suicidal patients • People with known MDR-TB • TB patients in the in-patient department • Participants who do not speak Amharic language
