Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Both male and females will be included in this study. • Participants must be aged 18-60 years old. This is due to an increase in degeneration of the knee joint found in patients older than 60 years • Correct diagnostic criteria for ITBS.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • If the participant is currently receiving alternative treatment for ITBS • Whether the participant has received non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) or analgesics within the last two to four weeks. • The participant has negative orthopaedic testing • The participant has any of the contra-indications for shockwave therapy

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Treatment of the TFL and gluteus maximus along with ITB in iliotibial band syndrome will be more effective than treatment of the ITB alone.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Treatment of TFL and gluteus maximus will help decrease pain in iliotibial band syndrome.
