Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: obese healthy children of 10 years or more of age, the criterion for obesity was body mass index (BMI) greater than the 95th percentile for age and sex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: diabetes mellitus, liver, renal, thyroid, inflammatory disease, and the use of any medication that may interfere with glucose or lipid metabolism as corticosteroids
