Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)participants had to describe typical pain features of TTH: bilateral location 2)pressing or tightening pain, moderate intensity (=6.5 on a 10 points numerical pain rate scale, NPRS) 3)no aggravation of pain during physical activity. 4) participants should report neither more than one symptom, including photophobia, phonophobia or mild nausea as requested by the ICHD-III criteria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)other primary or secondary headache including medication overuse headache 2)history of head or neck trauma (i.e., whiplash), cervical herniated disk or cervical osteoarthritis 3)any systemic degenerative disease, e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematous; diagnosis of fibromyalgia 4)had received anesthetic blocks the previous 6 months, physical treatment in the neck/head received the previous 6 months 5)pregnancy, hypertension, sinusitis, brain tumors and eye or ear problems 6)Having a diagnosis of cervical adiculopathy of myelopathy; or major depression
