Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients were included if they proved to be in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis as diagnosed by HRCT according to official ATS/ERS Statement3 signed an informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: in acute exacerbation of IPF, with known cause of interstitial lung disease, allergic to selenium, renally impaired, pregnant or breast-feeding, on mechanical ventilation or on other antioxidants
