Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A new episode of septic shock on admission to the PICU.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with primary conditions associated with myocardial ischemia or cell injury (eg, myocarditis, cardiomyopathy), cardiothoracic surgery, Kawasaki disease and congenital heart disease.
