Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria All ASA I and II patients between 18-65 years scheduled to receive general anaesthesia with a laryngeal mask airway for elective surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria ¿ History of ongoing upper respiratory tract infection. ¿ Patients with a failed LMA insertion defined as an unsuccessful laryngeal mask airway placement after two attempts. ¿ Patients with severe gastro oesophageal reflux disease. ¿ Patients with a symptomatic hiatus hernia. ¿ Patients with a BMI> 40kg/m2. ¿ Patients undergoing ENT-Ear Nose and Throat Procedures.

Primary objective ¿To determine the occurrence of POST between the intervention group in which LMA cuff pressures will be adjusted to 23-24mmhg and the control group in whom only monitoring of LMA cuff pressures will be done

Secondary Objectives ¿ To compare the laryngeal mask airway pressures between the two study groups ¿ To determine the severity of postoperative sore throat between the two study groups
