Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 60 male patients, ASA I and II, scheduled for open unilateral inguinal hernia repair under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: were inability to consent to the study, skin infection at the puncture site, chest diseases, hepatic, renal or coagulation disorders, contra-indication to any of the drugs used during the study.
