Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Aim: This study aimed to test the null hypothesis that PRF as an immediate post-extraction graft material produces bone histomorphometrically no different to bone derived from healing without intervention. Methods and materials: A split-mouth human biopsy investigation was carried out, deriving bone cores from randomized tooth extraction sites ¿ comparing bone derived from PRF to bone having healed without intervention.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ¿ Failing to meet accepted practice indications for treatment of missing teeth by dental implant supported restorations ¿ Active periodontitis ¿ Loss of the buccal, lingual, or palatal bone plate during tooth extraction ¿ Mandibular teeth ¿ Molar teeth (multi-rooted first premolar teeth were included, if the interseptal bone within the socket was not shallower than 7 mm ¿ verifiable with the trephine bur at extraction visit) ¿ Aged 18 or under ¿ Smoking ¿ Not consenting to participate in the study ¿ Unmotivated and unable to comply with the study¿s follow up requirements
