Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary study outcomes measured after 28 days of app use and at 6 months will include self-reported gambling symptom severity (measured using the Gambling Symptom Assessment Scale G-SAS; [18]) and app acceptability (using the Subjective Quality and Perceived Impact subscales of the Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS)).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes will include gambling frequency and expenditure and the cognitive processes targeted by the intervention: Gambling Readiness to Change (measured using the Gambling Readiness to Change questionnaire [19]) craving severity (measured using the Penn Gambling Craving Scale [20]), self-efficacy (measured using the Brief Situational Confidence Questionnaire-Gambling [12]), and positive outcome expectancies (measured using the Excitement, Escape, and Money subscales of the Gambling Outcome Expectancies Scale [21]). These questionnaires are selected for their good validity and reliability, and brevity, allowing participants to complete the survey within 30 minutes.
