Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: being aged 18 years or olderhaving a ruptured or unruptured saccular intracranial aneurysmrequiring endovascular treatment for the intracranial aneurysmprovide signed informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Inability to provide signed informed consent Inability to undergo a 7 Tesla MRI scan (applicable only to patients with an unruptured IA; patients with a ruptured IA will not undergo 7 Tesla MRI)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Main parameters in this study are: (1) Genomic parameters of endothelial cells of IA patients: gene expression (transcripts per million) and gene regulation (chromatin accessibility and transcription factor motif enrichment) of inflammatory genes. Additional main parameters for patients with unruptured IAs specifically are: (2) IA hemodynamic 4D MR flow parameters a. mean flux (ml), b. stroke volume (ml per s), c. derived biomechanical parameters including pulsatility index, arterial distensibility (mm Hg-1), wall shear stress (Pa) and oscillatory shear index. These will be determined both in the IA and in the feeding arteries. Main predictors are: sex and rupture status.
