Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: General inclusion criteria:age > 18 jaarable to provide informed consent and understand Dutch instructionsSpecific criteria for patients:Having an indication of mild or severe neuropathy according to international guidelines. The severity of neuropathy will be defined as mild when individuals are able to sense the 10 g monofilament, but not a 128 Hz tuning fork, and severe when they are unable to sense both.   Being ulcer-free 

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: General exclusion criteria: Having any type of disease, other than neuropathy, or medication that affects balance control. Having a history of foot surgery. Inability to walk without a walking aid on a treadmill. Specific exclusion criteria for patients: Having wounds on the feet.Having a major amputation of the lower limbs.
