Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 64 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.  Individuals, that identify as TGD, referred to the Radboudumc Centre of Expertise for Mindfulness. 2. Age between 18 and 50 years.3. Provide written informed consent. 4. Clinical indication for group-MBCT. 5. Adequate mastery of Dutch language.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Participation in a 8-week mindfulness program in the past 5 years. 2. Current participation in a mental health related intervention study. 3. Clinical contraindication for group-MBCT, including (but not limited to) current active suicidality, current psychotic symptoms, trauma-related complaints requiring trauma treatment prior to MBCT, moderate to severe substance use.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcomes include total scores on self-report measures of body awareness and emotion regulation, and acceptability of the MBCT program based on qualitative interviews.   

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes include Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM) measures of depressive  (IDS) and anxiety (STAI) symptoms and severity of symptomatic distress and psychosocial functioning (OQ-45), as well as additional self-report measures of perceived and minority stress, rumination, alexithymia, positive and negative affect, emotional well-being, mindfulness skills, self-compassion, and decentring.
