Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: >18 years oldHealthy (self-assessed)Average of >7 hours of running per week OR > 80 km per weekAt least one long run of > 1.5 h per week (in training season)Competing in road marathon or 20+ km trail/sky races 

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Present injury that interferes with normal training volume Chronic illness or medical condition knowing to cause gastrointestinal issues or menstruation abnormalities

Daily Carbohydrate IntakeAssessed via a 3-day dietary record using the Traqq app.This outcome provides quantitative insight into the average daily carbohydrate consumption of trained distance runners, contextualized according to individual training load, allowing evaluation of whether carbohydrate intake meets the demands of endurance training.Nutrition KnowledgeAssessed using the Abridged Nutrition for Sport Knowledge Questionnaire (ANSKQ).This outcome evaluates sport-specific nutrition knowledge, including understanding of macronutrient requirements, energy fueling strategies, and principles of optimizing dietary intake to support training and performance.Risk of Low Energy Availability (LEA)Assessed using sex-specific questionnaires: the LEAF-Q for female athletes and the LEAM-Q for male athletes.This outcome identifies athletes who may be at risk of low energy availability, a condition that can compromise metabolic, hormonal, bone, and immune function, as well as athletic performance.
