Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Chronic primary pain of the musculoskeletal type with an elevated pain score (Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) – highest daily pain score = 6 and a modal pain score = 4)Patients with pain and related reduced ability to participate in activities and psychosocial problems leading to at least moderate impact on (experienced) functioning. Corresponding with WPN-level 3-4

Exclusion criteria: An acute condition of psychosis, bipolar disorder, or acute suicidal riskProgressive or unstable physical disease

The primary objective is to assess the effectiveness of EFIT in reducing the intensity of pain. Secondary objectives are the assessment of the effectiveness of EFIT in reducing the impact of pain on daily life, pain-related stress, fatigue and symptoms of PTSD and depression.	—
