Telestroke consultation: live video/audio link between ambulance professional and stroke neurologist for real-time clinical decision support.

Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age =18 years. Stroke code activation by ambulance professional during office hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Planned transport to non-participating hospital.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Proportion of unnecessary stroke code activations (defined as stroke code leading to team activation/CT preparation but final diagnosis showing no stroke or no indication for immediate neurointervention).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Cost-effectiveness, appropriate patient allocation (LVO to CSC, non-LVO to PSC, safe home discharge), treatment times (DTN, DTG), 3-month mRS, CT/laboratory utilization reduction, stakeholder satisfaction.
