Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Meet PARDS criteria (per PALICC 2)Deeply sedated (i.e., unresponsive to verbal or tactile stimuli)On invasive mechanical ventilationHave an indwelling arterial line in situ

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncorrected congenital heart disease with right-to-left shuntingSingle ventricle cardiac physiologyLife-threatening pulmonary hypertension
