Psychological micro-interventions, primarily adapted from evidence-based treatments for prolonged grief, tailored to people with PGD following an unnatural loss.&nbsp

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Is 18 years of age or older;  Experienced the loss of a partner, family member, or friend at least 12 months ago due to an accident, homicide, suicide, or disaster;  Meets the diagnostic criteria of Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD);Owns a smartphone.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Active suicidal ideation and/or diagnosis of a psychotic disorderInsufficient proficiency of the Dutch language  

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome measures can be divided into proximal and distal outcomes. Proximal outcomes are changes in the severity of PGD symptoms and well-being before and after a brief intervention. Distal outcomes are changes in symptoms of PGD, PTSD, depression, and general wellbeing before and after the intervention period.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcome measures are: Effects of contextual factors on the effectiveness of interventions. Effects of individual differences in symptoms, such as the severity of PGD symptoms, on the effectiveness of interventions. Differences in effectiveness between different types of brief interventions. Dose-response relationship: the relationship between the number of brief interventions completed and changes in distal outcomes, which are PGD, PTSD and depressive symptoms and general wellbeing.
