Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: > 18 years old Clinical suspicion of unilateral or bilateral TMC OAPatients should be able to perform the required motion protocol with a continuous movement, defined as:Thumb abduction–adduction–abduction movement within 4 seconds, with a minimum range of motion = 45 degrees Thumb neutral–opposition–neutral movement within 7 seconds, with a minimum Kapandji grade = 6 Clear understanding of the Dutch languageInformed consent from the patient
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Medical history of trauma, chronic pain, or surgery involving the thumb (left and right)Diagnosis or clinical suspicion of inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid)Pregnancy

| Main endpoint: investigate the partaking bones of the TMC joint and their movement. The 4DCT parameters to be measured are the proximity pattern and contact recurrence pattern.Furthermore, correlations between reported pain and function scores and deviations in dynamic proximity and contact recurrence patterns of patients with symptomatic TMC OA will be evaluated. | — |
