Interventions

All subjects will perform a single bout of unilateral lower limb resistance-type exercise.&nbsp
Subsequently, participants will be randomized to ingest either 1x 100 g, 4x 25 g, or 15x&nbsp
~7 g of protein, provided in the form of calcium caseinate powder.

18 Years to 64 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged between 18-40 years Healthy18.5 = BMI 30 = kg·m-2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: SmokingSports/exercise >4 sessions/week or a structured resistance or endurance training scheduleLactose intolerant or allergies to milk proteinA history of neuromuscular problemsUse of anticoagulation medicationIndividuals on any medications known to affect protein metabolism (i.e. corticosteroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, or prescription acne medications).Strict vegetarianInjury or condition that would limit the participant from performing the resistance exercise.PregnancyHormone replacement therapyBlood donation within the past 2 months
