Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Voluntary written informed consent of the participant or their legally authorized representative has been obtained prior to any screening proceduresAdults = 18 yearsIndication of Endoscopic Endonasal Skull Base Surgery (EESBS) for medical reasons

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participant has a history of previous Endoscopic Endonasal Skull Base Surgery (EESBS)Pre-existing anosmia

Severity of olfactory dysfunction as assessed by the Sniffin’ Sticks test.Severity of intranasal trigeminal dysfunction as assessed by the Ammonium Sticks.Severity of subjective reporting of olfactory dysfunction as assessed by a questionnaireInvestigation by histomolecular analysis of the mucosa of the posterodorsal part of the septum removed during surgery (surgical waste tissue).
