The narrative intervention “An empowering story” is offered to a group of 8-12 participants with 2 trained professionals during 12 weeks.

Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Being in regular treatment at one of the respective centresNot being recovered during intake (i.e., score of 35 or lower on the Questionnaire about the Process of Recovery (QPR; Kraiss et al., 2019);Being able to invest time to come to the sessions (12*1.75 hours) and do the homework assignments (12*max.1.5 hours);Being able and willing to share stories and listen to stories in a group;Adequate language proficiency in written and spoken DutchBasic computer skills, like MicroSoft Word for making the life story book.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: severe instability or acute crisis; presence of psychosis;acute suicidality;substance dependency;being in recovery stage 1 ("being overwhelmed by the disease"; Gagné, 2004).
