Eligibility

Age
16 Years to 64 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: To be admitted to SEIN or Kempenhaeghe for video-EEG recoding; to be diagnosed with epilepsy; having a high seizure frequency;  with a history of tonic/clonic seizures; being mentally competent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with psychogenic nonepileptic seizures will be excluded.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary study parameters: Exhaled breath profiles obtained by sampling breath using eNose technology compared with the presence of an epileptic seizure and the time to seizure. 

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary study parameters: Breath profiles from exhaled air samples (eNose technology) compared with the presence of epilepsy versus non presence of the disease (control group).
