Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age >17 and = 75 yearsBeing admitted to the Intensive Care with severe traumatic brain injury (GCS 3-8)Receiving ceftriaxone antibiotic as part of the SDD regime

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No informed consent obtained from patient or legal representativeUrine creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min or anuriaKnown renal artery stenosisPatients with septic shock Patients with cardiogenic shockPatients with haemorrhagic shockUse of diuretics (including mannitol), beta-blockers, ACE-inhibitors and angiotensin II blockers while admitted to the ICU 

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is the difference cardiac output between TBI patients with ARC and TBI patients with normal CrCl.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Renal echografic measurement: Renal perfusion, Acceleration, acceleration time and end-diastolic velocity. As well as dynamic perfusion measurements. Cystatine CInflammatory markers (leukocytes, CRP, thrombocytes)Markers of perfusion (lactate, hematocrit, central venous O2 saturation)Antibiotic concentrations
