18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: aged 18-67 yearsadmitted to Burn Centre Groningen, Martini Hospital, or Burn Centre Rotterdam, Maasstad Hospital, with acute burns (wounds still open) covering =5% TBSA at the time of admission and/or a length of stay of =1 weekdischarged from the burn centre between 6 weeks and 12 months before entering the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: extensive (pre-existing) morbidity affecting cardiorespiratory fitness that is unrelated to the burn injuryinsufficiently proficient in Dutch or English to the extent that clear communication is not possiblepresence of contra-indications for maximal exercise according to the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)inability to cyclefacial burns that impede wearing a breath-analysis face mask
